Gifts for the Gals
I love shopping for the ladies in my life -- it feels in a way like I’m treating myself, and I feel like I can get creative and thoughtful with it, unlike others I have to shop for. Because I often look to some of my wishlist items to inspire gifts for my girlfriends, this list contains high and low items whether for your sister, best friend, mom, or just for ideas of what to ask for.
1. Naadam 100% Cashmere Oatmeal Cardigan. I got this at the beginning of the season and have to force myself to not wear it everyday. It is the most comfortable piece of clothing, chic, and timeless. Keep an eye out for their sales throughout the season, or use code MORGAN20.
2. Caraway Home Cookware. I’ve been hooked on this cookware for the last year, get so many questions about it, and truly think it’s one of the best gifts for an aesthetic and extremely functional gift. You can buy the pans in sets or a la carte.
3. Jammy Wine Jams. The perfect gift for the hostesses in your life. These jellies are under $20, homemade in NYC, and so delicious. I have had them on my charcuterie boards all year long and they are always the biggest hit.
4. Golden Coil Notebooks & Planners. I always LOVE getting notebooks and planners as gifts and I recently discovered this brand and love that their notebooks and planners are customizable so you can choose the format of the pages best suited for your job, organization, and creativity.
5. Vintage Pucci Scarf. There is no better gift than a vintage silk scarf, and it is something my girlfriends get me every year and I love. They can be worn so many different ways, always elevate a look, or, if you’re really in love with the print, can be framed as art. You cannot go wrong with this.
6. Lapima Sunglasses. I have a thing for sunglasses, and I love discovering smaller international designers. Lapima makes the most beautiful sunglasses in the best color combinations.
7. Poolside Bags. Whether your girlfriend is planning a getaway when we get out of quarantine, or needs an excuse to plan a vacation, Poolside bags are the best gifts. I love that they come in timeless shapes and are personalizable. Use code MORGAN10 for 10% off your order.
8. St. Helena Olive Oil. Ashley Kane shared this brand over the summer and I fell in love with their local, european branding, and just think nice olive oils are such a great small luxury gift that we often don’t treat ourselves to.
9. Moon Calendar. For the spirit junkies in your life. This calendar tracks the moon cycles throughout the year with ways to approach the movements of the moon and occurrences to expect.
10. Faux Fur Hat. To dress up your sweats for when you take your dog out on the morning walk ;) There’s nothing I love more in the winter than a (faux) fur shell trapper, and this is the perfect mix of trendy and timeless.
11. Athena Calderone Books. My muse and absolute fave, Athena Calderone, has mastered the art of living, and I am constantly amazed by her eye and the way she sees things. Live Beautiful gives a look into beautiful spaces, and Cook Beautiful is her cookbook of beautiful and thoughtful recipes.
12. Vintage Vases. I could - and often do - spend hours gazing through Etsy shops, and is really is the perfect destination for one-of-a-kind gifts. This year at the top of my gift giving will be vintage vases, hurricanes, and drinkware to elevate the at-home atmosphere.
13. Customized Donni Slippers. To be honest I was never a slippers person until spending all year at home this year. Donni has quickly become one of my favorite brands, and these slippers are high up on my personal wishlist, and make the perfect gift.
14. Dear Universe Tees. This company was started just 6 months ago here in Brooklyn to give people a reason to support the causes they care about. The tees are the perfect fit and softness, and you can choose which cloud color based on what your girlfriend, mom, or sister care the most about. I have. the green #DearUniverseGreen for sustainability, and #DearUniverseNewYork for my love and muse of New York. Use MJ15 for 15% off of your order.
15. Fellow Gooseneck Electric Kettle. Christian got this for me as a birthday gift and I am absolutely smitten over it. It is on the pricier side of electric kettles, but you can always opt for the stovetop version of it for about half the price. It is a piece that looks beautiful on your countertop or stove, and gets used all the time.
16. Last but not least, Duffield Street Jewelry. My baby that I launched this summer! I designed these pieces with so much in mind, and each piece is customizable with gemstones of your choice. The capsule of four pieces are each made from recycled gold with the idea that we only need a few everyday pieces of jewelry to bring out the inner femme in us.
